Operation Description
Lifeguard Ambulance Service of Florida, LLC serves as the premiere EMS provider for Santa Rosa County, Florida. Lifeguard began serving the citizens of Santa Rosa County on the 1st of August 2007, under a five year contract with the availability of three contract renewals.
The Lifeguard EMS system is comprised of 15 ALS ambulances and 5 Paramedic Quick Response Vehicles (QRV), fully equipped with ALS and stretcher capability. Lifeguard does not collect a subsidy from the county and is funded strictly with transport revenue.
The geographical structure of Santa Rosa County covers 1,017 square miles (land), with a total population of 143,105, averaging 142 citizens per square mile. The average annual call volume in Santa Rosa County exceeds 16,000 responses per year, with a transport volume averaging 12,500 patient transports per year.
