Brett Jovanovich, MSHA, NREMT-P

President

A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Brett Jovanovich relocated to Birmingham, Alabama in 2001, just as Lifeguard began its first expansion efforts. After serving the Lifeguard team in various roles for more than 16 years, he now serves as its President. Leading the organization from the corporate headquarters in Birmingham, Brett promotes a strong culture that values safety, teamwork, growth, development and excellence. He has been a nationally registered paramedic since 1997 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business, as well as a Master of Health Administration, both from the University of Alabama - Birmingham. Brett was cited by the Birmingham Business Journal in 2011 as one of Birmingham’s “Top 40 Under 40” and received the UAB Alumni Excellence in Business Award in 2013.


Sam Yother

Director of Financial Planning and Analysis

A diverse professional with experience in human resources, business development and operations, Sam Yother has over a decade of experience in finance. He oversees Lifeguard’s financial planning and performance analysis to further strategies that enable Lifeguard to provide the best experience for patients, employees, communities and shareholders. Sam holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Auburn University. As for his ten years at Lifeguard, Sam has this to say: “Working here has afforded me the opportunity to turn a job into a meaningful career by supporting and serving the men and women that are on the front lines taking care of and providing comfort to patients under trying and often extreme circumstances.”


Dr. Kim Landry, M.D., FACEP, FAAEM

Chief Medical Officer

A board-certified emergency physician with more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Kim Landry completed his emergency medicine residency training at LSU. Dr. Landry has been an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine with Florida State University College of Medicine since 2003. He is a member of the Florida Medical Association, the National Association of EMS Physicians, the Air Medical Physicians Association, the Florida Association of EMS Medical Directors and the American Telemedical Association. As Lifeguard’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Landry ensures clinical excellence and safety is provided to every Lifeguard patient by enforcing up‐to‐date, evidence-based guidelines and protocols that frontline paramedics and EMTs apply in the field.
